Innovation Lead, Meetic / Match Group Europe

Engineer, entrepreneur, Artificial Intelligence enthusiast: today, Xavier de Baillenx is the ‘Innovation Lead’ at Match Europe following the purchase of his start-up by the European division of the Match Group (Meetic,, Tinder…).
In 2016, as a part of the Match Group, he created the chatbot "Lara", the most successful conversational robot on the European market today. Currently, "Lara" converses with more than 280,000 users per month and in 10 languages. She helps and accompanies users all throughout their experiences with the group’s services
(account creation, coaching, customer service, etc.). The Messenger chatbot Lara was the only European highlighted by Facebook during the 2017 F8 developer conference. Since 2017, "Lara" has had the support and expertise of a scientific laboratory specialised in artificial intelligence in an effort to apply the most advanced learning and Natural Language Processing techniques available.
An entrepreneur to his very core, Xavier launched the concept of "Daming" (Dating + Gaming) in 2014 with ‘Playme!’ the first game designed specifically for singles to meet. He then moved on to create a program (SDK) that would add a "play against a single person" functionality to any mobile game. Following the success of these developments, the start-up was purchased in January 2016 by Match Group Europe.
With a diploma from the Ecole Centrale Paris, Xavier began his carrier in the music industry. After gaining experience as a producer in Johannesburg, South Africa, he moved on to become the manager of the successful pop group Tahiti 80 (with 500,000 albums sold) before becoming the head of digital developments at Universal Music, where he worked for 7 years.
